Senior Applications Engineer - Leading Proprietary Trading Firm

An industry-leading quantitative trading firm at the forefront of systematic high-frequency trading is seeking an experienced Site Reliability Engineer to elevate the software development infrastructure. In this role, you'll architect and deliver exceptional solutions for the trading and quantitative development teams, taking full ownership of mission-critical services. Working primarily in our cloud environment, you'll leverage cutting-edge technologies including Docker, Terraform, Kubernetes, and modern CI/CD practices, while overseeing code in either Python, Java, or Go to build the scalable infrastructure that powers our trading strategies.

Core Responsibilities:

• Drive engineering excellence by collaborating closely with leadership, trading teams, and development groups
• Lead and innovate our Development Experience platform, managing critical infrastructure including source control, artifact repositories, and delivery systems
• Provide expert technical support when needed, strengthening cross-team relationships through effective problem resolution
• Design and implement infrastructure-as-code solutions across our hybrid cloud and on-premises environment
• Strong knowledge sharing through comprehensive documentation and technical training
• Drive technical initiatives while mentoring team members and promoting best practices

Technical and Professional Expertise:

• Years of software development in Python, Java, or Go
• Deep understanding of infrastructure automation using tools like Ansible
• Experience working in AWS cloud and on-premises environments
• Hands-on experience with containerization technologies (Kubernetes, Docker) and infrastructure tools (Terraform)
• Strong background in CI/CD pipeline architecture and optimization
• History of building developer productivity tools and maintaining enterprise-scale solutions
• Strategic thinker who balances rapid delivery with sustainable, long-term solutions
• Passionate about continuous integration and deployment excellence
• Self-driven learner with strong collaborative instincts and natural curiosity
• Proven ability to debug complex systems and architect robust solutions
• Experience supporting mission-critical applications in a high-stakes environment
