R & D LAB TECHNICIAN - MIL

$21.00/PER HR

SHIFT  8AM - 4PM MON. - FRI.

As a R&D Lab Technician, your primary responsibility will be to fulfill and ship sample requests. This involves working on multiple projects with tight timelines. Clear communication and the ability to organize and prioritize is a must. This role works with a number of cross functional groups including Commercialization, Sales, and R&D.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, evaluate, and ship samples for review of both internal and external customers.
• Manage multiple sample requests with tight deadlines utilizing the PLM system, prioritizing based on date needed, complexity of request, and other expectations of the request.
• Monitor email for sample request updates and approvals. Update sample requests with additional information, tracking information, completion dates, etc.
• Work with multiple members of our commercialization team to ensure all timelines for sample requests are met and communicate any concerns that could potentially affect the timelines.
• Perform seasoning/flavor evaluations as assigned by the team of food technologists.
• Monitor and upkeep of R&D seasoning/ingredient library.
• Participate in sensory evaluations and product cuttings.
• Work with cross-functional partners (Operations, Quality, Warehouse, Packaging, Procurement, etc.) to secure best quality material needed to support sample requests.
• Responsible for shipping all sample requests and supporting shipment of other materials as needed.
• Keep both paper and electronic records to support all sample work.
• Maintain lab, storage areas, ingredients, sample retains, and supplies in a neat and presentable fashion that complies to food quality and safety standards.
• Conduct benchtop work and prepare samples to support new innovation, ingredient qualifications, and other R&D testing.
• Support R&D Team with other tasks as assigned.

What you bring to the party:

• Basic knowledge of allergens, good manufacturing practices and first in, first out programs.
• Basic math skills like multiplication, division, addition, subtraction and problem solving.
• Ability to prioritize work, manage tight deadlines, and demonstrate attention to detail.
• Must have knowledge of Outlook, Microsoft teams, Excel and Word programs.
• Demonstrates good communication skills.
