Location: Lake Forest, CA

Position Summary:

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Assistant Project Manager to join our growing team in the commercial construction industry.

This role will support the Project Manager and Senior Project Manager in the planning, coordination, and execution of construction projects.

The ideal candidate will have experience in commercial construction, a background with general contractors, and fluency in both English and Chinese.

The Assistant Project Manager will be responsible for helping to ensure projects are completed on time, within budget, and in accordance with quality standards.

Key Responsibilities:

Assist in the planning and execution of construction projects from inception to completion.

Collaborate with the project team to establish project timelines, budgets, and resource plans.

Coordinate with subcontractors, vendors, and suppliers to ensure timely delivery of materials and services.

Support in managing daily construction activities and monitor site progress.

Help ensure compliance with safety regulations, project specifications, and building codes.

Prepare and review reports on project progress, costs, and any issues.

Maintain accurate project documentation, including drawings, contracts, change orders, and RFIs (Requests for Information).

Communicate effectively with stakeholders, including clients, engineers, architects, and subcontractors.

Assist in preparing and conducting project meetings, tracking action items, and following up on project deliverables.

Provide translation and interpretation services for Chinese-speaking stakeholders, if necessary.

Assist with project closeout procedures, including punch list and final inspections.

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related field (or equivalent work experience).

Minimum of 1-3 years of experience in commercial construction project management or general contracting.

Strong knowledge of construction processes, cost estimation, project scheduling, and contract management.

Fluent in both English and Chinese (Mandarin preferred).

Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to liaise effectively with stakeholders.

Familiarity with construction software (e.g., Procore, Buildertrend, or similar).

Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work under pressure.

Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously and prioritize effectively.

Preferred Skills:

Experience with project management in large commercial projects (office buildings, retail spaces, or multi-family developments).

LEED accreditation or knowledge of sustainable construction practices is a plus.

Knowledge of local building codes and regulations.

Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Project).
