Kelly Science & Clinical is currently seeking candidates for an Analytical Lab Technician position at a specialty chemical company in North Houston. The overall responsibility of this role is to conduct routine and non-routine testing related to petrochemicals, specialty chemicals, and polymers in support of manufacturing plants, technical service groups, application development groups, and research groups.
Additional Job Responsibilities:
Performing various wet chemistry and instrumental analyses on chemical products including ICP, Karl Fischer, Acid/Base Titrations, moisture titration by Karl Fischer, viscosity, density, flash point and freezing point determinations
Performing routine calibration and maintenance of laboratory instrumentation
Monitoring and troubleshooting performance of the analytical instrumentation
Performing statistical analysis of data; preparing and presenting reports
Prepare reagents, solutions, and standards as required
General laboratory maintenance to ensure that the laboratory is in full compliance with all safety, environmental and health regulations and procedures
Developing and refining analytical methods
Job Requirements:
5+ years of experience in a chemical testing lab with experience with most of the analytical techniques listed above
AS/BS degree in Biology or other Life Science
Good planning, organizational, verbal, and written communication skills
Drive and motivation to learn and assume additional responsibilities as needed
Computer proficient, especially with Excel (spreadsheets and charting), Adobe, Word and PowerPoint and willingness and desire to expand these skills further
LIMS experience will be considered a plus
Knowledge of statistical (SPC/SQC) techniques is preferred
